Cloud Accounting. Is It Time To Make The Change?

Cloud Accounting

Cloud computing

Are you still using the same old software you’ve been using since you started your business?

I’m sure that you’ve upgraded your computer, your website and probably your branding in that time, so why not update your bookkeeping software?

Most people think that the training involved in learning a new software package will be too arduous and they adopt an ‘if it’s not broke then don’t fix it’ attitude. That’s all well and good but the new generation of cloud accounting software have some amazing features.

As an accountant, I have used a lot of different bookkeeping software and I have spent a lot of time researching cloud based solutions for clients.

There are a lot of great software solutions out there but my personal favourite is Kashflow. It is so user friendly that clients with no prior bookkeeping knowledge are able to pick it up easily, the support is excellent and the integration with other software is awesome.

I use GoCardless for direct debits, dropbox for file storage and mailchimp for email campaigns. Kashflow integrates with each of them and really saves me time.

On top of this, the price is really reasonable, most businesses will need the business pack which is £10 per month (plus VAT).

All cloud accounting software solutions are very user friendly so you don’t need to worry about training times and all of them offer easy migration from well known desktop software so you won’t have to sit there inputting all of your customer and supplier data into any new software package (phew!).

If you’d like to bring your books into the 21st century then speak to your accountant to see what they recommend or you could click this link and try Kashflow free for 14 days.

No matter what software you choose, the benefits of cloud accounting are numerous:

  • Work where you want, when you want.
  • Multi-user so that you can give access to certain parts of the software to other people. The day to day processing can be delegated.
  • It’s cheaper – no need to worry about back-ups, updates and paying extra for customer support.
  • It’s more secure. Cloud security is excellent and there’s no need to worry about a laptop thief accessing your data.
  • There’s no need to run or install applications.
  • If you haven’t yet made the change then why not give it a go? I really think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how simple it is.

I’d love to hear how you get on, or perhaps you have already made the switch, which software did you go for and how easy was it?
